Ladder Inspections
Our on-site ladder inspections service covers the inspection of all access equipment located on your premises, from general ladders and step ladders to machine stairways, scaffold towers and work platforms.

If all your items are in one location, we can carry out inspections on up to 50 items in one day. If items are scattered around the site the ladder inspection may take longer.
How Frequently Should Ladders Be Inspected?
- It is recommended that ladders and steps, that are subject to frequent use (on a daily basis) should be inspected at least once every 3 months.
- Items that are subject to occasional use (on a weekly basis) should be inspected at least once every 6 months.
- Ladders that are subject to infrequent use (used in periods in excess of monthly) should be inspected at least one every 12 months to check they have not deteriorated or been damaged during storage.
As part of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), employers, managers, duty holders and supervisors have the responsibility to provide employees with correct and, more importantly, safe equipment. Not only that, the equipment should be properly maintained and regularly inspected to prevent any serious injury or even death.
